Located in the Centre of Rome,
near the Teatro Argentina, the Burcardo Library and Theatre Collection (an office of the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers) is housed in a
late 15th Century building. Formally established in 1932, the
Library continues to acquire materials for its theatre collection.
The reading room is open Monday through Friday, from 9.00 a.m. to 1.30
p.m. The reading room is closed on weekends, on holidays and in August.
The materials are noncirculating. Staff members are available to assist users in their
research, especially when dealing with nonbook or rare archival materials.
Within copyright restrictions, a photocopy service is available. A photographic service is
provided for rare and fragile materials.
The Museum is open Monday through Friday, from 9.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
